The handy and informative CRA Members Directory, which includes information on all CRA’s member companies, is specifically intended to be of practical, every-day use to Clients, Specifiers, Consultants, Surveyors and Local Authorities.

The pocket-sized booklet gives information on each Member Company, its head and regional office locations, web site, email details and the names of primary contacts. A description of the company's specialist concrete repair activities (in the case of manufacturers - its products) and third party accreditations are also included.

To assist selection when compiling tender lists for concrete repair work, each contractor’s entry includes details of contract values catered for, the company’s largest contract to date, its total turnover, the value of its concrete repair related business and its geographical area of operation. CD-ROM (free of charge)

The CRA CD-ROM contains audio-visual programme entitled ‘The route to a successful concrete repair’ and ‘Structural strengthening with composites’ programme. It also contains a bibliography of allied publications and a list of useful addresses.

Standard Method of Measurement for Concrete Repair

A working document that clarifies the various concrete repair functions to be completed. Items such as surface cleaning, surveying, mortar repairs, pore/blow hole filling, levelling with fairing coats, resin injection and protection coatings are covered. It also takes into account time related elements, such as access and site facilities, etc. A comprehensive and standard form of work package can therefore be prepared.

The Route to a Successful Concrete Repair

Provides useful guidelines as to the best approach to be adopted when setting out to repair reinforced concrete.

The document tackles safety and environmental hazards, assessment of the damage or deterioration and diagnosis of its cause. A definition of the client's objectives is included, as well as details concerning the specification of the repair work and the choice of methods and materials. Advice regarding the preparation of contract documents, including a full specification and Bill of Quantities is included, with reference to the Association's 'Method of Measurement for Concrete Repair'. Other sections deal with the important aspect of contractor selection and evaluation and supervision of the work, once awarded. A useful appendix tables generic types of materials for the various stages of concrete repair work and cross-refers to their individual functions.

Application and Measurement of Protective Coatings for Concrete

Covers preparation, application and testing with a special section of quality estimation, an area of coating application often misunderstood. The publication also contains notes on choice and limits for specification.

Electrochemical repair using re-alkalisation and chloride extraction techniques

Outlines the processes of carbonation and chloride attack and highlights the various electrochemical methods of repair.

BS 1504 British Standards for Concrete Repair - Advice Note No6

This CRA Advice Note has been written to coincide with the arrival, for the UK concrete repair industry, of a comprehensive set of standards for the process of concrete repair and the majority of the products it uses. It is important to realise that these documents are full British Standards. For the first time in the UK they provide a comprehensive set of requirements for the products used for protection and repair of concrete. The CRA will actively promote the use of the British Standard BS 1504 for Concrete Repair in the UK.
